Blizzard '08 fiasco

So, we got a lot of snow on Wednesday. I went to work and school, but it was an adventure. UW stayed open until 3:30 p.m., when Provost Patrick Farrell made an announcement was made canceling classes. I especially loved how Madison Metro was stopping service early, but no UW faculty could leave early without using a sick day. Come on, UW. Wednesday was just a series of bad decisions.
Wisconsin voters mar state's proud history

Voters in Wisconsin's Nov. 7 election decided, by a large majority, to define marriage in the state constitution "to provide that only marriage between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in this state and that a legal status identical or substantially similar to that of marriage for unmarried individuals shall not be valid or recognized in this state." According to MSNBC, 59 percent of electors voted in favor of the amendment, and 41 percent voted against.
The state has previously been known as a progressive leader on many issues.

well, my view is that i'm all for anything that increases awareness - especially when it's positive. i even like when religious protesters hold a rally - but this is even better, because many people admire him. this is an issue that I think will get more and more support the more it's talked about - most people are just ignorant of the whole thing. more often than not, when people actually think about gay marriage or whatever, they come out on the "correct" side - but that's just me do u have facebook? i forgot - do u go to school now or no? ----------------- Original Message ----------------- From: o.O-j-O.o Date: Sep 8, 2006 7:26 PM While I do admire Brad Pitt for saying that, it has absolutely no weight as far as an argument goes.
